THEAN HOU : A Magnificent Temple in Kuala Lumpur

Thean Hou is one of the biggest temples in South East Asia, was built for the dedication of the Sea Goddess, Mazu, from Chinese Mythology. This temple is officially opened in 1989. From the entrance gate, you are already welcomed by the incredible Chinese architecture. The colorful vibrant exterior presents prosperous life and good fortune. The details of the roof are so amazing, you can enjoy them on the second floor. You can go straight up from the stairs on the left. (*There will be a sign for it)

We arrived at 3 PM, and there were only a few of guests. There were no tourist buses just like in other famous destinations. This temple is one of the instagrammable places in Kuala Lumpur. The angle of the sun is perfect, just pray for a clear day, so that you can have the shadow of the lampions on the main plaza. *Note : If you want to pray or go inside the temple, you have to put off your shoes.
