EVITA SINGAPORE 2018 : Conflicting & Intriguing

The truth is I never left you. 

Finally, I can watch another work of the amazing Andrew Lloyd Webber. I watched Evita with my sister on the third day of the show. Evita the Musical was held in MasterCard Theaters at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

The musical is about the story of The Spiritual Leader from Argentina, Evita Peron. The plot brought me from excitement into deep sadness. The most famous score is "Don't Cry for Me Argentina". Webber's works always bring out the emotion from each score. They can sing the same song with different feels and bring out the meaning of the lyric from many sides. The music is more heavier for me than Phantom of the Opera. First half of the musical was filled with joy and excitement, about how Evita controvesially became the wife of President of Argentina. As the second act, the mood started to begin more serious and emotional, from the peak of her life until how she finished it.

The settings and costumes were the very best. I could see the glitter of the necklace that Evita was wearing. The delivery of the words were so clear, especially "Che" who was very astonishing, there was no lack of energy from the beginning until the end.  

Overall, I like this musical, as always will be the fan of Andrew L. Webber ! Can't wait for another one.
