PINANG PERANAKAN MANSION : Mama-Baba's House

Babas and Nyonyas, welcome home !

Pinang Peranakan Mansion is the museum that originally was a typical 2-story house for Peranakans people. Because of its eclecticism style that was adopted from Malay, China, Europe, it is one of the favorite places to visit in Penang. This heritage architecture was built at the end of 19th century. The owner was Kapitan Cina Chung Keng Kwee, who had a tin mine at that period. He was so rich and had his second wife from Malay. So that, he built this house and made it his house and also office.

When we arrived at this place, we bought the tickets for 17 MYR/ each. Then, we were directed to the group tour. It is free by the museum (*but you can give him tip if you want). The tour guide is very recommended. We got Stan Lee to explain us about the house. He was so funny and hilarious. We entered every side of the building, while Mr. Lee explaining the stories of the house. Probably, the duration of the tour is around 45 min - 1 hour.
